The following information is designed to provide general information about New York City Recruiting Battalion and your new area of assignment.
Whether you live on-base or off-base, Fort Hamilton military community is considered a remote site. It is very important that you become familiar with battalion organization the programs designed to help you and your family. This handbook is the first step in an ongoing process to keep you informed.
Most families easily adapt well on or off-base and find it to be a unique metropolitan experience. We encourage your involvement in school and church activities, as well as other civilian community organizations. The Northeast has a wealth of historic, cultural, and entertainment opportunities for your enjoyment.
At the same time, it’s important that your family participate in recruiting company and station events as often as possible to keep in touch with other soldiers and military families.
