        Our Battalion

The U.S. Army Mid-Atlantic Recruiting Battalion is headquartered at Lakehurst Naval Air Station in Lakehurst, NJ. The battalion is one of the nine battalions that make up the 1st Recruiting Brigade, headquartered at Fort Meade, Maryland. The Mid-Atlantic Recruiting Battalion oversees the recruiting mission of 19 Recruiting Centers. The battalion is divided into six companies (South Jersey-K2, Valley Forger-K3, Central Jersey-K4, Philadelphia Metro-K6, North Jersey-K7, and Newark-K8) covering approximately 17,000 square miles. The battalion is comprised of over 260 military and civilian personnel.

        History

The Mid-Atlantic Recruiting Battalion was formally known as the Philadelphia Recruiting Battalion and was located in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. In September 1997, the Philadelphia battalion was redesignated as the Mid-Atlantic Recruiting Battalion and relocated from the US Customs Building in Philadelphia, PA, to the Naval Air Engineering Station in Lakehurst, New Jersey. After several realignments, the BN solidified its recruiting region to cover the entire state of New Jersey and the greater Philadelphia area.
