Our Companies

        Our Battalion

        Headquartered in and named for the capital of Ohio, Columbus Recruiting Battalion has operated continuously since the inception of the all-volunteer Army in 1973. The Battalion is composed of 40 recruiting stations spread across the lower two-thirds of Ohio, Northern Kentucky, and parts of West Virginia.

        Columbus is one of seven battalions in the 3rd Recruiting Brigade. The Battalion changed significantly in 1992 with the closing of the Cincinnati Battalion. Columbus absorbed three companies for its present compliment of six: Charleston, Columbus, Lancaster, Dayton, Cincinnati, and Kings Mills.

        The Columbus Battalion received the following awards:

        2012: 3rd Brigade Top Recruiting Battalion

        2011: 3rd Brigade Top Recruiting Battalion

        2011: 3rd Brigade Top Army Reserve Production

        2011: 3rd Brigade Top Combined Production

        2011: 3rd Brigade Top RA Production

        2010: 3rd Brigade Commander Special Recognition-Over 100% RA and AR Mission Accomplishment

        2006: USAREC #2 Battalion
