Welcome to the Columbus Recruiting Battalion
It is both an honor and a privilege to serve our country as Recruiters for the World’s Greatest Army! You were chosen for this challenging assignment based on your superb qualifications, your outstanding record of performance, and your demonstrated potential for increased responsibility. This assignment will allow you to excel and to grow personally and professionally.
The battalion has six recruiting companies. Four are located in Central and Southern Ohio, one is located in West Virginia and one is located in Northern Kentucky. The battalion headquarters is located in Columbus, the state capital. Please call the Adjutant @ 614-693-2914 to confirm your duty station one month prior to your report date. Once your duty station is determined, I suggest you log in to Army One Source (www.armyonesource.com) where you can get valuable information on the area where you will be living. You should also receive a letter from your sponsor with more information about the community and local area and a welcome packet via email.
Read through the Welcome Packet and it will answer many of your questions. Fill out the Info Survey form and return it to the email address from which it came. An assignment will be made after reviewing the information sheet. We will make every effort to accommodate you regarding your assignment request if you have one.
Please report to HQ between the hours of 0900 and 1500 to begin in-processing. Report in ACU’s. Do not go to your company or your station before coming to BN. A checklist later in this Packet tells you what to bring with you to facilitate in-processing. There are no shortcuts. To ensure a smooth transition into the battalion you must have a valid driver’s license and a copy of your DA Form 348 (Drivers Qualification Record). It is strongly recommended that you do not sign any lease agreement or purchase a home until you have signed into the Battalion. It is possible that your assignment will be different from the one you were initially given based on the needs of a particular unit at the time of your arrival. It is also recommended that you request advanced pay to cover associated expenses with your move.
Again -- congratulations on your assignment to the Columbus Recruiting Battalion. We are positive you will find your tour both enjoyable and rewarding. We look forward to you joining the “Spirit of Columbus” Team.
Again, Welcome to the Columbus Recruiting Battalion. Army Strong!
