        Here are some resources to hopefully make your transition a smooth one:

        o Family Resource Guide-  This guide provides information on the following topics:  relocation, sponsorship, Military One Source, PCS entitlements- (MALT, DLA, TLE, BAH, etc), housing, Tricare, Dental, EFMP, spouse employment/scholarship resources, etc.

        The Plan My Move website gives you address and directions to BN HQ as well as in-processing procedures and important contact info; as well as information on several resources.

             o   Deers: 800-538-9552  Please make sure and update DEERS as soon as you have found a place to live, you may then enroll yourself and your family into the correct Tricare program

             o  (800-444-5445) Humana is the regional contractor for the Tricare Southern Region, this website allows you to find providers and information on benefits as well as forms.

        o   Childcare:

                  §  Recruiters qualify for this program which assists them in locating child care providers as well as helping offsetting the cost of childcare

             o   SitterCity:

                  §  Military members qualify for a free membership, which normally costs $120

                  §  This service can help you locate child care-full time/part/occasional use, as well as, tutors, nannies, pet sitter, dog walker, housekeepers, elder care companions, etc.

                  §  Recruiting personnel are often assigned to locations where housing costs are not documented and not fully supported by Basic Allowance Housing (BAH). To improve housing quality of life for independent duty Army Recruiting Command personnel, the Department of the Army has established a Leased Housing Program.

             o   Automated Housing Referral Network (AHRN)

                  §  Housing listing include: off-base rentals, on-base/Military housing, shared rentals, temporary lodging, Military for sale by owner home.

                  §  The off-base rentals are owned by military members.

        o   Exceptional Family Member Program EFMP

             o   EFMP is a mandatory enrollment program that works with other military and civilian agencies to provide comprehensive and coordinated community support, housing, education, medical, and personnel services to Families with special needs.  Soldiers on active duty enroll in the program when they have a Family member with a  physical, emotional, developmental, or intellectual disorder requiring specialized services so their needs can be considered in the military personnel assignment process.
