Welcome to the Seattle Recruiting Battalion
This Command Philosophy is designed to provide battalion leaders with a framework to understand what I consider fundamental to our organization’s success.
We are a mission-focused organization that optimally recruits the most qualified candidates for the U.S. Army with integrity and innovation. Every member of our team conducts themselves with values-based ethical behavior built upon trust, commitment and professionalism. Our unit positively represents the U.S. Army and is fully integrated and invested in local communities. We protect and take care of Soldiers, civilians and families.
Excellence is achieved by mastering the fundamentals of our profession through persistence and repetition. Excellence is sustained through leadership. I will provide you with a positive command climate in which you can lead, work, and succeed.
I expect leaders to be competent and committed experts. Good leaders identify the decisive point and influence success. Leaders drive solutions and provide moral/ethical direction. We must train and develop junior leaders through mentorship and coaching. Foster teamwork to optimize processing and manage Future Soldiers. Compete against the standard. Leaders need to optimally manage organizational systems requirements and focus on the return on investment. Activity does not equate to productivity. Our mission is not optional.
The Center Leader is the center of gravity to recruit qualified candidates for Army service. We must resource and empower the Center Leader to succeed across the spectrum of recruiting functions. Effective Prospecting is a command priority.
Ambassadors of the Army:
We must strengthen relationships in the community and tell the Army story. The Army Values define us and why we serve: Loyalty, Duty, Respect, Selfless Service, Honor, Integrity, & Personal Courage. My door is always open to discuss our values.
We will protect the force and fully support SHARP and EEO programs. Do the right thing even when no one is looking. Treat others with dignity and respect both on and off duty. I have no tolerance for sexual assault/harassment, discrimination, or a bad attitude.
Maintain balance between your professional and personal lives. Improve the quality of life of personnel and their families. Reward excellence. People are essential to our success.
