CG Policy 9 Memo
The Department of Army, in accordance with the Department of Defense Directive, established a Sexual Harassment Assault Response and Prevention Program to prevent sexual assaults and to ensure that personnel are trained to properly respond to victims of sexual assault. The USAREC SHARP:
a. Promotes awareness of sexual assault within the recruiting community and coordinates professional intervention at all levels within military and civilian communities.
b. Strives to ensure protection of the privacy of victims of sexual assault through restricted and unrestricted reporting options.
c. Recognizes that incidents of sexual assault constitute violations of the law and that a commander has authority to take disciplinary or administrative action in such cases.
The goal is to prevent sexual assault, to encourage the reporting of all instances of sexual assault, to protect victims of sexual assault, and to treat victim of sexual assault appropriately.
