Child Care Assistance Program
available to Soldiers and DA Civilians

Military Child Care in Your Neighborhood is a Department of Defense program designed to meet the child care needs of Service Members living in areas where on-base military child care is not available.  Eligible Service Members and Civilians include Recruiting Command, Cadet Command, and Military Entrance Processing personnel the high quality care available on military installations.

Now with Military Child Care in Your Neighborhood, many of them will be eligible to pay reduced fees for the care of their children.  To meet this need, the DoD has asked National Association of Child Care and Resource Referral Agencies to partner with state and local Child Care Resource and Referral Agencies to locate or develop high quality child care spaces that meet DoD quality standards, and provide fee assistance to lower the child care cost to military families.

ACAP Services are now available Online
Army Career and Alumni Program

In an effort to improve its service to our Soldiers, ACAP is implementing ACAP Express, which will streamline access to ACAP services and give Soldiers more autonomy in setting up and using those services.

The most important change to how we will now serve Soldiers is that they will now have the ability to go online at any time, from any location, to the ACAP EXPRESS web site (https://www.acapexpress.army.mil), log in using AKO login, then schedule appointments for all services offered at the ACAP Center. ACAP Express will be available for use by transitioning Soldiers as of Thursday, 28 Feb 08.

Additionally, some of the tools previously available only within the ACAP Centers during normal business hours will now be available online. One of those features will allow transitioning Soldiers to hone their resumes from any computer with internet access, and then email it to their ACAP counselor for review. A second feature will allow Soldiers in remote locations to use some of the services normally provided by ACAP only at installations.
