FORT KNOX, Ky. -- iKROme is getting a facelift Nov. 25 to help U.S. Army Recruiting Command Soldiers and employees access all the information and programs they need from one convenient location.
The updated intranet homepage, accessible by those internal to USAREC, will host daily updates to news, hot topics, IT system status, USAREC messages and key information from the command group and staff.
The page will also feature easy access to the recruiting and long-range calendars, brigade and battalion rankings, command talking points, forms, regulations, training and more.
"Being a geographically dispersed command, it is sometimes difficult to ensure information flows to personnel at every level," said Maj. Gen. Jeffrey Snow, USAREC commanding general. "This new iKROme homepage puts everything you need to know in one place for a brief snapshot of important information as well as quick access to all the systems you need to do your job each day."
When he arrived at USAREC last summer and started to learn about the number of systems and information sources, the general said he was overwhelmed with all the different places recruiters had to visit to successfully do their jobs each day. He charged the headquarters staff with creating a "one-stop shop" to support the access and information needs of the command's 12,500 recruiters and staff.
"We come to work every day to support the field," said Command Sgt. Maj. Anthony Stoneburg, USAREC's senior enlisted leader. "We want to do everything we can to simplify processes and decrease the amount of time our recruiters have to spend seeking information. The new iKROme homepage is a step in the right direction."
