2017 Career Counselor of the Year Competition

FORT KNOX, Ky. -- U.S. Army Recruiting Command announced Sgt. 1st Class Daniel Vasquez, 1st Recruiting Brigade, as the winner of the 2017 Career Counselor of the Year Competition here Nov. 17.

The competition included the Army Physical Fitness Test and a written exam covering a variety of general and specialized topics. The competition culminated in a competitive board held at the USAREC Headquarters.

Candidates were required to demonstrate leadership qualities, general military knowledge, and exceptional proficiency and comprehension of their primary military occupational specialty.

The winner will represent USAREC at the 2017 U.S. Army Training and Doctrine Command Career Counselor of the Year Competition scheduled for Jan. 23-26, 2017 on Joint Base Langley-Eustis, VA.
